Hello, I’m Caroline and I work at Progressio. It annoys me that people waste valuable energy by leaving their electrical appliances on or on stand-by, when it’s so easy to just turn them off.
If all UK households turned off their TVs at night instead of leaving them on stand-by, we’d avoid emitting enough CO2 to fill the Millennium Dome 38 times each year. British people waste £163 million every year paying for the electricity used in keeping their appliances (such as DVDs, microwaves and CD players) on stand-by. So I’ll be turning off my TV at night and switching off my computer monitor while I’m away from my desk. Will you join me and promise the same?
